Moonset on the Gulf

There's something about fall that always makes me think of harvest moons. I've seen some remarkable moons over the past month or so, and they've become a growing source of inspiration.
This is a harvest moon setting over the Gulf of Mexico, just as the first light of morning begins to reach across Florida from the Atlantic. The sun hasn't risen yet, but its approaching light is already beginning to change the sky.
I love this time of morning. The Gulf is still dark, the clouds are taking on a little warmth, and the moon is making its final descent toward the horizon.
There's something fascinating about watching the night slowly give way to morning. One side of the sky is welcoming a new day, while the other is holding on to the last of the night.
