26013 Snowy Egret--Emerson Point

This painting began during a quiet hike through Emerson Point Preserve, at the tip of Snead Island. Known for its mangrove shoreline, tidal inlets, and ancient shell mounds, it’s one of those places where Florida still feels untouched and timeless.

I stepped off the trail to get a closer look at the water, and through the brush I saw a Snowy Egret wading in the shallows. He moved slowly and deliberately, barely disturbing the surface as filtered light flickered through the leaves above. Against the layered greens and earthy browns of the mangroves, his white feathers seemed to glow.

I painted this piece to capture that feeling of discovery — the quiet reward that comes when you slow down and look a little closer. Not a grand scene, just a simple, beautiful moment in wild Florida.

This 8" x 10" original oil painting comes framed as shown and measures 11" x 13" overall. Ready to hang!
